  1. Expozine’s 10th Anniversary, La Centrale Panel Discussion

Lovers of ink and paper, Expozine is coming up and it’s also the 10th anniversary, so….shit’s gonna go down.  Sadly I’ll be in Vermont, but if I was in Montreal, I would definitely make it to the panel discussion happening at La Centrale this Sunday.  The topic: women and silkscreening.  From the press release: “On the occasion of Expozine’s 10th anniversary, La Centrale Galerie Powerhouse presents a discussion about the strong presence of women in silkscreening in Montreal and the role that zine culture has had on their individual practices as well as on the city’s contemporary art scene.”

The invited speakers: Andrée-Anne Dupuis Bourret, PhD candidate in art theory, maker of art-books, and member of several artist-run centers; Jacinthe Loranger, longtime printmaker and silkscreen artist; Chloe Lum of Seripop fame; Leyla Majeri, musician and visual artist; Dominique Pétrin, of Les Georges Leningrad, and also a silkscreen aficionado.

That’s one stellar lineup.  Discussion takes place Sunday the 27th at 3pm, at 5035 St. Dominique.  Image below from Seripop.
